Hi, I am one of those guys that would like to know more about flashing vga bios. Because what i read in magazines and forums, is that it is a true way in hosing a card. Does it work the same way in flashing the mobo? By that i mean if you corrupt bios, can you reset cmos or replace bios chip on the motherboard. Just by looking at my video card, i see the GPU, Onboard ram chips, diodes, capacitors, and switching regulators but to no avail can i see the bios chip or a cmos. i might be ignorant here and can anyone show me where it is stored with pictures because i searched everywhere on the net. Does ATI or Nvidia also have a blocking mechanism in flashing bios? If not, that is truly not too smart on their behalf. If so i am gonna get into this when i judge that it is safe to do.Slvr-bullet, how are you by the way, i heard a guy telling me he modded his card and added extra onboard ram(upgraded from 128 to 256),lol. I gave him my email in a pm so that i can see pictures of this and i am still waiting. Do you think he is full of it. i have sent him numerous emails and no reply. Since you make these cards for ati, can you tell me if it is possible to add that extra memory with an extravagant mod like that. and what if it was ddr2, how did he compile?

I was just talking to a friend about this & he says he has done it.

Works good on the lower models he said but had some issues with artifacts with some that were OC'ed too high.

If that guy really did upgrade to 256MB that's mad!! lol

that's good he flashed successfully. if he is not getting image corruption, then he is fine which it sounds successful. artifacts are result of heat, mem clock probably to high. yeah i was talking to a couple of guys, they all flashed successfully except for one. it was difficult to help the one guy though, because nobody new how to go back to default bios, ask your friend how somebody goes back to default and where bios chip on vga card is, please. would love to know how to go in reverse. when overclocking, at least you have the chance to revert but how can one revert in bios, is it a simple matter of flashing default bios again? Because this guy couldn't, also we were wondering if he downloaded a bios that was infected. yeah and about the guy modding his ram, lol, he also told me that the ram at first he added onboard then he retracted and said it was external because somebody corrected him and told the guy he had ddr2 technology. But if he really did mod, i would love to see it but i don't think so. he also claimed to crash my computer, so i gave him my ip, and i am still waiting for him to crash it, lol.But seriously, if anyone really modded there mem on vga, i would like to know how they did it.

oh yeah sorry for double post, but yeah, if he had 256mb already with ddr2, then why did he add more memory, doesn't that sound quirky! first he said he had 128 and then he said 256.

lol... I think he's full of it!

As for my friend, I'll ask him next time I see him... don't see him that much tho. :(
I may shoot him an email if I don't see him soon although. ;)

Well I was able to ask him..

He said that he doesn't see why you wouldn't be able to go back. Just save the old BIOS... the proggy he had he said had an option to do that.
