I NEED A CARD!!

I need a new video card fast. I was looking at the fx5900 but im not sure wheter it plays hl2 crappy because of drivers or not. I only have $200 bucks so im also looking at a 9700np. What card would be the best in my situation?

Also, if you want best peformance for HL2, I believe the ATI cards peform better in that.

The 5900 you mention don't come as cheap as $200 AFAIK... around $298 is cheapest I can see & you can get a Radeon 9800 Pro for $299 @ BestBuy. Hang on.. even cheaper now.. $279 @ www.compuplus.com ..

For $200.. I would go the 9600 Pro.. 9700's cost a lot more than the 9600's & don't peform much better.

My opinion... save another $79 & get the 9800 Pro! Heck... even more price cuts may be on their way!
