Ok, so on Saturday, I went with my friend Frank to his girlfriend's party. He told me there would be a lot of people there, including hot girls. So, I went to his house at 1:00PM to wait for Frank and I to be picked up. Well, in the car were the people who were at the party the whole time. There was Frank's girlfriend, who was pretty hot, this guy named Joe, who looked just like Jay from Jay and Silent Bob, and he was pretty cool to boot, and then there was Andrea, she's one of those chubby chicks that act like their hot, didn't care about the consequences of her actions AND she was annoying (from now on, I'ma call her Chubs). Oh, and they're all smokers (not me and Frank).

Oh yes, and after we go to the mall for some party supplies, Frank tells me the dark truth behind party that he neglected to tell me earlier. It is really the 16th birthday party for Chubbs, and apparently she's never had a birthday party before, which was sad. The whole time inside of the van that picked us up, she kept flirting with me and messing with my hair, while I on the other hand just made them all laugh so Frank would be quiet about me being social.

Then we get to the house (at 2 or 3:20) and sit in the sunroom for an hour, not really talking that much and mostly just waiting for people. Then at 4:00 we all go inside and watch the first few minutes of Constantine, which was probably the highlight of the party. Then Chubbs starts complaining about how she hates the movie because Constantine never inhales the ciggarettes, so we stop watching the movie (Frank and his gf were cuddling on the couch, they were making out off and on in the sun room) and go back into the sunroom, where the same ol' thing happens. Then, we all walk to 7-Eleven and get ice and cigs, which the girlfriend starts to smoke only about a meter away from 7-Eleven, literally. People are watching, but don't say anything. We go back to the house, sit in the sunroom and wander out back a bit.

At about 7:00, I'm about to snap, so I grab Chubs' cell phone (she had left, I didn't care where) and tried desperately to get a hold of my dad, with no luck. Then I called my brother who couldn't pick me up, as he was going to see the comedian Pablo Francisco very soon. I waited an hour, called my dad and again, and (Praise the Lord) he picked up. Then I had to wait about 20 minutes, and after eating some unsatisfying (but welcome) birthday cake, my dad got to the house, and I was home by 8:30 or 9:00.

There is, in fact, no place like home, something that proved true to my mind at the moment we arrived.

So, in summary, never go to a party unless you have all of the details, or proof that a lot of hot people of the opposite sex are coming.

I wasn't expecting her to be there, she's grounded. Oh and her mom bought the cigs. Yeah, twisted I know. You have to pick the right things to go to with Frank, sometimes they can be good, like The Wizard of Oz with all the sound turned off and played with Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon album behind it....or so I heard it was good, couldn't get a ride.

Yeah I accidentally had some before and it was terrible. I was at a halloween party with my parents and the people had a keg there. I didn't know what it was and I walked right up and pumped the top of it and poured it into my cup and it was dark outside so as I looked I thought hmm that's some really foamy apple juice. Needless to say beer was the last thing that ran through my mind. After tasting it I asked one of the adults(I was 12 and these bozo's were watching me the whole time :roll:) What is this and he said oh that's beer. My eyes kinda widened a bit and I said Oh...do you want it? and I handed it to him... yech nasty stuff.

well, it depends on the brands and quality of the different kinds, but champagne really just tastes like a variation of the various 'sparkling' drinks.

umm... LOL Thank you captain obviousss.. :lol: :mrgreen: (yes, many people drink simply because they like being wasted :thumbsup: )

BUT... you are making the assumption that people only drink to get wasted. trust me, nothing could be farther from the truth. the people who drink wine, champagne and etc, usually do it simply for the social enhancement that comes with being a little tipsy. it's MUCH easier to hold a conversation, you are much oftentimes much more of a pleasant person, there's not very much alcohol in champagne and wine either, and since you sip it in small quantities, it takes a decent amount of time and a lot of wine/champagne to get drunk.

Wel, actually there's A LOT of alcohol in wine, but you're right in that most people don't drink a lot of wine, so they don't get that drunk.

ok this much I do know and aclays is right on this for sure. The percentage of alcohol in wine is low in comparison to other drinks. And the slow ingestion of it (and usually that fact that you have dinner with it) gives you a , for lack of a better word, "higher tolerance" to it....basically it just takes longer for it to reach a level of saturation in your blood that will affect you as drastically as say um...Vodka, or a bit of Bacardi.

it's illegal in some states, there's a vodka out there called 'everclear', it's 190 proof and was actually illegal in idaho :oops: some people i know would make trips to wyoming to buy the stuff for weeklong parties and etc :lol:

i haven't found many white wines i like, but lots of red's :D funny thing is, most of the red wine i buy is from australia :lol: 48proof wine viddy? that's gotta taste interesting.. :lol:
