Dual moniter settings

I am running a GeForce fx 5600 w/ 256mb. I have two displays hooked up horizontally spanning.
When I maximize a window, it just kinda goes halfway on each moniter. Is there a way to set it up where I can maximize a seperate window in each moniter?

e.g. like viewing a DVD in full screen on my secondary(left), while working on a full screen word doc on my primary(right)

Have you gone into..

Display Properites/Settings/Advanced/Displays

& enabled 2 monitors and/or fiddled with the options in there?

Yes. But to no avail.

I've never fiddled with trying to get 2 monitors going before so maybe someone else can help you?!

Apart from drivers, as per the last posting but see if you can select identify monitor so you get a 1 on one screen and a 2 on the other screen. This will ensure you have the capability to split the picture.

I have the 5900 ultra and all you have to do is disable window spanning in nview. when u set up it up you enable window spanning just uncheck it.very easy to fix
