I brought a friend... think he left...
This place is seriously lacking as far as users go. There's like what, 10 of us here?

"We have 242 registered users"

Although I think there are only like a dozen or so regular members. :(

One word - ow! I don't see why this place gets so little attention. It's great forum, and we're all pretty good people here, right? It's n00b friendly, and has the best web address possible (seriously, how can you be any more obvious then videocardforum.com?). Maybe you have to advertise or something. I'll see if I can get my more computer inclined buddies over at the clan (which I'm not a member of - yet) I play with to come over here. Maybe I could convince them to make it so they're Overclocking and Video Card part of their forum links to here?

I think most of the people who are new here only post one or two questions and then they just forget about their membership. I will surely stay though! :D

About clans. I am in -SMO- for Delta Force: Black Hawk Down.

Yeah... well basically the main reason I guess is because I only recently installed a hack/mod for the forum so that the SE's will list all the pages rather than just the front page. So we have been seriously lacking in quality SE traffic, although we generally rank between #1 - #5 for "video card forum" on Yahoo & maybe google.

Just a little more patience while google, yahoo et al spider the site & link all the pages which hopefully will bring lots more SE traffic.... currently we have only approx 31 pages listed out of 2500+.

Advertising.... that's kind of hard to do.... can't advertise on any good targetted sites because they all generally have their own forum & wouldn't wanna advertise the competition.

I think most of the people who are new here only post one or two questions and then they just forget about their membership.

Yeah... a lot of people are just looking for help to their current problem & after that is no longer an issue they don't stick around. :(

Only improvement this forum needs is a new smiley set - I never liked the phpBB smilies.

DVD-Man
05-14-2004, 01:23 PM
There are tons of other smileys you can use if you click the "all" button. ;)

As for the base set.... I think they are pretty kewl! ;)

What u talking about DWells. The biggest set of smilies I have ever seen. Using one for every post now (hope it's ok). :headbang:

DWells
05-14-2004, 10:05 PM
No I mean just the default smilies the normal ones. I don't like those ones, I prefer the default Invision smilies.

DVD-Man
05-15-2004, 06:07 AM
Hahahaha... I hate the invision ones, they're too big & clumsy & are missing several good smilies like a laughing one, a " :? " one, an embasrressed one, a crying one, some mean type ones like  & also a " :| " one....

TechDude
05-15-2004, 10:06 AM
i think that the current set fine for expressing your emetions. invision smilies have too much extra things.
