Anyone know the max core/memory clock frequency 6800GT can reach?
and 'if' it can be reached and the card be safe with just a Zalman vf cu fan?
Or do I need like expensive liquid cooling for the card if Im gonna max it out?

If you want maxed out clocks you'll want a subzero kit :P. Every card is different One 6800GT may reach insanely high clocks with no hitches while another may not like to be clocked even 20 over. Even ones coming from the same manufacturer.

How well will X overclock?
Not all chips/components overclock the same. Just because Bobby got his Prescott to 5 GHz, it doesn't mean yours is guaranteed to do 4 GHz. And the like. Each chip is unique in its overclockability. Some are great, some are duds, most are average (well, duh!). Try it and see. Whether or not you keep it if you get a dud is up to you and your store's return policy.

subzero kit eh....
Tell me more about this 'subzero kit'
the 'subzero'ness of it is very intriguing...

It could cost you upwards of $1000 dollars and can keep your CPU at sub-zero temperatures. It's intended for VERY high end overclockers.

Well I can tell you the max of the AGP version of the 6800GT is right around 500mhz.? You see the AGP version has power stability issues, it can take higher voltages.? I had mine up to 481/1220, that was on chilled wc with core temps of around 12C.? Highest Ive ever seen was 492Mhz on the AGP version.? The PCI-e version however can take higher voltages, on dry ice they will do 650/1350.

W/O useing higher voltage bios or voltmods about 430/1150 is about the highist you will see give or take 10.
