Bikini? you can find those photos anywhere, gotta go further than that

On that note, try download a PDF file of "Adobe Photoshop CS4 Classroom in a Book". I have my own copy, and it's great for learning the basics and some useful stuff.

I'm running CS3, think it'll be too different to be worthwhile?

CS3 to 4 had a few jumps but I think overall you will be ok. Probably still a worthwhile effort and there may be a CS3 version.

Find things like watermarked photos. (your snowboarding ones come to mind) and try to manipulate them to a specific cause.

I would first get familiarized with all the tools and the built-in filters. Once you've got the hang of those, you can get a bit more creative.

I'd recommend just messing around with basic photo effects and using multiple layers as that was a concept that took me a bit to grasp.

There's heaps of tutorials around the net. As you go through some of them you'll start to understand the tools and workflow in PS.

I'll have to look this up. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah I've watched a lot of video tutorials, and read lots of other guides too. Some of them are difficult to follow, because they assume you already have a certain level of knowledge about the way photoshop works, but others give good enough step by step instructions that I am able to figure out what said tool does as we go.

Is there anything specific you wanted to concentrate on in PhotoShop? (eg. Graphic Designs, Logos, Photo-editing)

I am interested in making forum signatures and touching up photos, but really I'm pretty impressed with photoshop's capabilities, and I'd love to learn a broad base of skills with it. If I can get the time, I'll probably try and take a class on it here at the university. I'm not sure if I'll have time for that though, so I'm left with whatever free time for dabbling I have on the weekends.
